Outbursts were seen in 1913, 1946 and 1978 (e.g. ApJ 248, 1067), suggesting a recurrence time of ~33 years. These extremely rare outbursts, and their decline to quiescence have NEVER been covered in X-rays. RADIATION SUMMARY Observed Limit ----------------- -------- ----- ACE 2 hr fluence 3.4e5 3.6e8. Discovery launch set for Aug 9. MP: Load review for AUG13 will be at 2:00 pm today. We expect some minor pass changes later this week because of the Genesis launch(or lack thereof), and more changes next week. S/C: Pass changes may impact our OTG/B patch uplink planned for Monday. GOT: - DATA: SOT: Solar activity is low. Proton flux is still dropping. 0 -20% chance of CME hitting earth in the next 96 hrs. We asked Joy to check Greg Spitzbart's progress on upgrading the snapshot. MEETINGS: Safe mode training in the Action Room at 2:30 pm. Recall we have a safe mode exercise coming up on 16 Aug.
