ACE EPAM P3: 2 hr fluence is 1.7e8 vs. threshold 3.6e8. CRM-based orbital fluence is 0.0e0 vs. threshold 1.0e9. Chandra is in the magnetosphere. A radiation telecon was held at 2:45pm EDT, to decide if the soft proton flux was too high and hence stop the load. It was decided that the proton flux is acceptable and to let the load continue. 4) Quick look data: ObsID Target SI Grat Comment ----------------------------------------------- 02197 NGC 5055 ACIS-S NONE ok. 5) Starcat problem in Obsid 2197 Here is the explanation for the starcat problem for obsid 2197, that was reported at the 9am ops meeting this morning. This same explanation probably applies to any starcat problem for obsid 2210. The ACA review showed a new starcat was needed for obsid 2197, and David Morris generated it, passed it to FOT MP, and notified SOT MP of the new starcat in the usual manner. FOT MP (Ken Gage) did not perform a DOT edit as usual, but instead put the starcat data into the OR for 2197, and let the OFLS build the starcat for 2197. The OFLS re-ordered the supplied stars in type-then-brightness ordering, so that the same stars were used, but in a different order to that in the starcat from David Morris. Ken used an OR edit, rather than a DOT edit, to investigate which errors would be reported by the OFLS. SOT MP then updated the SOE file with David's starcat, so that the SOE file disagreed with the other OFLS products and with the flight telemetry. The SOE file was ingested by arcops, but then caused problems in QL processing of the stars for 2197. Possible solutions, to prevent this problem in the future: 1. don't use OR edits for starcats. 2. make sure SOT MP understands which starcats are inserted via OR edits and which via DOT edits, and only updates the SOE file for DOT-edit starcats.
