SOT shift report 2001-02-15 L574 Start at 2001:046:13:35 GMT = 2001 Feb. 15 08:35am EST End 10:30am EST SOT Lead Ed Kellogg Plan: ---- OBSID 00597, UX ARI 2001:045:19:39, HRC-S LETG HIGH-RESOLUTION SPECTRUM OF the stellar coronal source UX ARI. REAL TIME OBSERVATIONS GMT OBSID ---------------------- ---- ----- Pass was planned to end at 8:45 EST, but at 8:35 when I arrived, there were no data. The ACA display showed the third fidlite not tracking. This is also shown in the snapshot data, below. Notes from 9 am meeting ------------------------ OPS: Passes 3 over the last day(s) Dumps The first dump, on a 34m antenna, was successful on the 2nd attempt, using SSR-A. The two dumps scheduled on a 26m antenna, were not successful. The first of these two were at apogee using DSS66. A later unscheduled pass on DSS54 was successful, except that there was a comm outage on the ground for the last 7 min. Data loss 4 min due to SSR switchover. Load is good -> 049:22:17 CAPs - next passes - MP: JPL is planning to start automation in April. We need to create new SOE config files for use with automation. JPL plans to make several 34m antennae simultaneously unavailable during ~Nov. 2002 upgrades. We need to work this to optimize our data reception. A successful test was completed on OFLS 9.1. There was one unexpected issue with DSN scheduling - yr 2001 boundary - that will be investigated. S/C: Because of the dump problems, we rolled over to SSR-B, and are still on it. SSR-A is still powered on, and pointers are not yet reset. We are working on a decision whether to lose the 4 min from A or B, depending on the criticality in two different OBSIDs. GOT: Working on sorting out data from last several dumps and delivering to ascds. SOT: Radiation is low. We noticed loss of 3rd fidlite at 1316 GMT. FOT reports that power was on. OCC Mgr: Will be looking for written backstop procedures that were requested a couple of weeks ago.
