ECS SI MODE ASSIGNMENT RULES AND GUIDELINES |
ACIS Operations is responsible for balancing the Cold and Total
ECS time across the three SI Mode "groups". To understand how
the 5 and 4 chip ECS SI modes map to the 3 "main" SI mode groups
(TE_007AC, TE_007AE, and TE_00B26) see the ECS Cold Time Tracking page and
scroll to the bottom of the page.
Data File Naming, Content, and Format Conventions.
In order to assess the balance of ECS measurement Cold and Total time
across the 3 SI mode groups, ACIS Ops requires access to 2 data files
supplied by FOTMP.
The rules governing the location, content, format, file naming
conventions, and SI Mode change reporting methods, that FOTMP and ACIS Ops agreed to,
and file selection guidelines for ACIS Ops, can be found here.
The rules governing the balancing of ECS time, and programs ACIS
Ops can use to assess the distribution of cold and total ECS time
(CheckECS_CLL and CheckECS_SLA), for a Preliminary Schedule, and decide if changes to the assignments need to be made, can be found
here
The general procedure is:
- Execute your usual Preliminary OR check checkist - but BEFORE
leaving the SMTE directory:
- Run CheckECS_[SLA/CLL] (Whichever script you prefer)
- Decide on any changes you want to make to the ECS SI mode
assignments (or none)
- Whether or not you want to change an ECS SI mode you MUST include
a definitive statement in the body of in your Preliminary Schedule
ORcheck Email report which says either this:
ECS SI Modes: No Change
or this:
ECS SI Modes: With your requested changes.
FOTMP requested that we always make a statement.
