PSMC Anomaly Recovery Scenarios

DPA-A Anomaly
  1. Check that the anomaly isn't due to the failure of an A/D
in the RCTU, or to noise in the PSMC serial digital flags.
  2. Run dpaa_on (SOP_61038). Repeat if it fails the first time.
  3. Exit if successful.
  4. If DPA-B off and/or disabled, run dpab_on (SOP_61037).
  5. Run switch_bepa_b (SWAP_BEPA_B).
  6. Notify mission planning that FEPs 0,1,2 may be unavailable.

DPA-B Anomaly
  1. Check that the anomaly isn't due to the failure of an A/D
in the RCTU, or to noise in the PSMC serial digital flags.
  2. Run dpab_on (SOP_61037). Repeat if it fails the first time.
  3. If unsuccessful, notify mission planning that FEPs 3,4,5
    may be unavailable.

DEA-A Anomaly
  1. Check that the anomaly isn't due to the failure of an A/D
in the RCTU, or to noise in the PSMC serial digital flags.
  2. Run the deaa_on (SOP_61036). Repeat if it fails the first time.
  3. If successful, run steps 5-7 of switch_deaa_b (SOP_?) to reboot
    the BEP and establish thermal control over the focal plane;
then exit, continuing operations using DEA-A.
  4. Otherwise, run switch_deaa_b (SOP_?).
  5. Exit if successful, continuing operations using DEA-B.
  6. Assuming that switch_deaa_b failed in step 8.n, run steps
1-4 and part “a” of step 8.n of switch_deab_a (SOP_?).
  7. Run switch_deaa_b (SOP_?), omitting step 8.n.
  8. Continue operations using DEA-B and notify mission
planning that a pair of CCDs may be unavailable.

DEA-B Anomaly (after DEA-A Failure)
  1. Check that the anomaly isn't due to the failure of an A/D
in the RCTU, or to noise in the PSMC serial digital flags.
  2. Run deab_on (SOP_?). Repeat if it fails the first time.
  3. If successful, run steps 5-7 of switch_deab_a (SOP_?) to reboot
    the BEP and establish thermal control over the focal plane;
then exit, continuing operations using DEA-B.
  4. At this point, there may be nothing further to
be done to restore power to the DEA, but keep trying!
  5. Run switch_deab_a (SOP_?).
  6. Exit if successful, continuing operations using DEA-A.
  7. Assuming that switch_deab_a failed in step 8.n, run steps
1-4 and part “a” of step 8.n of switch_deaa_b (SOP_?).
  8. Run switch_deab_a (SOP_?), omitting step 8.n.
  9. Continue operations using DEA-A and notify mission
planning that a pair of CCDs may be unavailable.
