Status of Chandra Deepest Fields Data and Download Information

Accessing the data:

The complete data set of the Chandra Deep Field North consists of 12 ObsIDs. For your convenience, we are providing merged Level 1 and Level 2 products; or, you may choose to download individual observations. Following are several options:

• You may download the merged event files by clicking on the appropriate link below. Note: The 12 ObsIds have been merged into single event and image files, after careful alignment and reprojection to a common coordinate system. Hence, these products differ from what one would get by downloading the individual ObsIDs' products. Also note that these files are free from any alignment errors and the absolute coordinates are believed to be correct. Finally, note that since this is merged data from several observations, it is not meant to be used for spectral analysis. (In order to not exceed a 2GB file size, the Level 1 event files are packaged into two files.)

The complete data set of the Chandra Deep Field South consists of 11 ObsIDs and is very large. For your convenience, we are providing merged Level 1 and Level 2 products; or, you may choose to download individual observations. Following are several options:

• You may download the merged event files by clicking on the appropriate link below. Note: The 11 ObsIds have been merged into single event and image files, after reprojection to a common coordinate system. Hence, these products differ from what one would get by downloading the individual ObsIds' products. Note that since this is merged data from several observations, it is not meant to be used for spectral analysis. (In order not to exceed a 2GB file size, the Level 1 event files are packaged into three files: two for the "Faint" observations and one for the "Very Faint" observations.) Note that these files have been updated as of 5/2/01; they are now free from any alignment errors and the absolute coordinates are believed to be correct.
