Abstract

The unprecedented arc-second resolution of Chandra offers the opportunity to perform spatially-resolved spectroscopy of Cas A on spatial scales much smaller than the size of the remnant. We have analyzed 50 ks of data obtained using the ACIS detector on Chandra, have obtained spectra for more than 1000 separate regions in the remnant, and will present preliminary analyses of the spectral features of these regions.
