Running PP on colossus-v for realtime events


To execute Peter Ford's realtime version of pmon; pp:
  1. Log into colossus (or colossus-v) as acisdude
  2. Make your display window as tall as your screen will allow
  3. % ~pgf/bin/got
    This will display the latest dump and real time files

  4. Take the latest time file to get the real time data:
    ~pgf/bin/pp /dsops/critical/GOT/RT_raw/raw_telem_2011-09-21_07:34:02
    This brings up a pmon-like display. Unfortunately, it does not include the bi-levels.

    5. logged in as acisdude on colossus-v:

    Note that pp is a shell script, and lives in ~pgf/bin, while pmon is an executable, and must be run from ~pgf/linux on linux machines. This can be accomplished by setting up the path before running pp:

    set path = ( $path ~pgf/linux )

    ~pgf/bin/pp /dsops/critical/GOT/RT_raw/raw_telem_2011-09-21_07:34:02

    There is also a tool in Dick Edgar's home directory on colossus-v for slowing down a unix pipe, called 'buffer'. It takes an argument -u pausetime in microseconds. Sample usage:

    gunzip -c /dsops/critical/GOT/input/2011_263_1858_264_1140_Dump_EM_71926.gz \
    | ~edgar/bin/buffer -u 10000 | ~pgf/bin/pp
