Item 2. Meeting Announcement for The International X-ray Observatory
=====================================================================
The International X-ray Observatory team invites you to a science
meeting on January 28 - 29, 2009 in Cambridge, MA at the Royal Sonesta
Hotel on the Charles River. Participation by all
members of the scientific community is welcomed,
and those on the previous Con-X and XEUS teams are
particularly encouraged to attend. The meeting will
focus on preparing for the upcoming U.S. Decadal Survey, and will
feature presentations by the IXO Science Definition Team, the Instrument
Working Group, the Telescope Working Group, and the ESA, JAXA and NASA

the recent ESA Concurrent Design Facility (CDF) and NASA Mission Design
Lab (MDL) efforts. The overall science goals of the IXO
mission will be discussed and the status of preparing
the science case for submission to the Decadal Survey will be presented.
We expect on-line registration to open on Nov 24, and close Jan 14.
Please see the mission web sites (http://ixo.gsfc.nasa.gov/ and
http://sci.esa.int/ixo for more info or contact Michael Garcia
(mgarcia@head.cfa.harvard.edu). The project web sites will be
