HRC-I Flat Field Map Components


The following is a map of the relative QE response across the detector, as displayed on the previous page.

Below are flat field maps for the HRC-I at eight energy bands. Six of these formed the basis of the median maps above. The two flat fields taken as subassembly calibration (SAC) that were generated using L-lines, Ni L-alpha (852 eV) and Ag L-alpha (2984 eV), were excluded from the median image due to beam non-uniformities which resulted in substantially distorted maps. Each individual energy map was normalized to the mean of its central region (the central 1/3 in x by the central 1/3 in y) and leaving a central value of one.

To give the user an idea of the relative QE response of the detector at different energies, we have prepared two maps of the standard deviation from our median above. The first map includes only the six energies used in constructing the median, while the second includes all eight energy bands.
