HETG/HETGS: High Energy Transmission Grating (Spectrometer)

The High Energy Transmission Grating on Chandra (P.I.: C.Canizares, MIT) provides a spectral resolution of about 1000 in the 0.5-8 keV band (1.6-6 Angstrom). The dispersed spectrum is normally read out by the ACIS-S CCD array.

See the Proposers' Observatory Guide (POG) and the HETG WWW site for more details. For a more in depth discussion of grating analysis, visit the Chandra Grating Analysis Page.

The CXC HETG Calibration WWW pages have reports on the latest HETG calibration status.
