ACIS SOT Shift Report July 23, 2024

ACIS Personnel: Jack Steiner, Catherine Grant, Paul Plucinsky

PLAN
----
Run CAP1749 to start a 24 hour ECS measurement after an autonomous radiation shutdown
interrupted the JUL2224 load products. The ObsID for this measurement is 62616.
This is a 4-CCD ECS measurement using the alternate chip-set.

CLD File executed:

1A_ECS4A_24H_135.CLD

SUMMARY:
--------

The CAP executed as expected.

Radiation Telecon Summary: (Jul 23, 2024, 3:47)
-----------------------------------------------
Update of 2024 Jul 23 Tue ~3PM EDT.

At the beginning of the comm at 17:55z today (which was started somewhat early), SCS-107 was observed to have run at 2024:205:03:11:48z. This was in response to prompt particles from an event well beyond the west solar limb. SCS-107 ran nominally and the science instruments were verified to be in a safe state. As we are not in eclipse season, pre-approved CAP 893B was run to disable SCS 29 (Eclipse load control), and the SOP_SAFE_SAFING_ACTIONS procedure executed.

During the 17:55z comm the team discussed anticipated radiation levels; with ACE p3 and GOES HRC shield proxy rates below limits and falling, and with no significant CMEs expected, no concerns with an expeditious return to science were identified. Replanned loads are currently expected to be ready for uplink at the 2024:207:02:15:00 comm (10:15pm EDT Wed.). ACIS is planning an ECS measurement during the science downtime.
