Telecom 07/12/2012 ----------------- SCS-107 ran due to a high-radiation indication at 194:19:59:43z. SCS-107 ran nominally. None of the radiation proxies were at a level where a RadMon trigger was expected. The ACIS high-radiation flag is re-set at the stop-science command from the SCS-107 run and could not provide a real-time indication of whether it triggered. The channel that triggered RadMon will require an examination of the back-orbit data. A message will be sent to sot_yellow_alert when data is in-house. Provided there are no surprises in the back-orbit data the plan is to build loads to resume science using the uplink at 195:23:25-196:00:15z. We will tag-up at tomorrow's 9am on 111159# to review the radiation environment and forecast and the sciance resumption plan. Telecom 07/13/2012 ------------------ RadMon triggered the activation of SCS-107 based on E1300; the HRC antico shield rates were near but not above the trigger threshold. The E1300 rate and proxies have decreased. A CME is expected to arrive 1000-2000z on Jul 14. A science resumption load is being worked for uplink at the 195:2325-0015z pass. A review of the loads is expected for early afternoon. CAP 675A will be used to re-enable SCS-107 and a CAP review will be held in conjunction with the load review. A Go/No-go telecon for science resumption will be held at 7:15pm EDT on 111165#. Chandra X-ray Observatory Report 07/13/2012 ---------------------------------------------- During the last week the observing schedule was interrupted by a high-radiation event that activated the science instrument safing sequence (SCS 107) and stopped observing at 3:59pm on Jul 12. All spacecraft actions were nominal. A real-time procedure was executed on Jul 13 to disable SCS-29, which was enabled during the safing sequence. Observations of Sgr A* were impacted and will be rescheduled. Planning is underway to attempt a resumption of observing this evening.
