Radiation Telecom (07/19/2012) --------------------------- SCS-107 was activated by a high-radiation condition at 201:11:44:57z. The GOES proxy of the HRC antico shield rate indicates that the shield was a likely trigger. SCS-107 ran nominally. CAP 893A to disable SCS-29 is the only required clean-up action. A replan schedule to resume science is targeting the 202:0345-0445z (BOT 11:45pm EDT) comm for uplink. This schedule will be re-worked to include the M31 observation (ObsID 13300) and the JUL2312 week. Reviews the the JUL2312B products should be sent via email to identify any issues. Go/No-Go Telecom (7/19/2012) ------------------------- High-energy particle rates are decreasing (slowly) and provided there isn't another input are expected to be sufficiently low to resume observing. The low energy protons have not yet started to drop but are not expected to go much higher. The radiation environment is OK for resuming with the JUL2012A load products . Chandra X-ray Observatory Report (07/20/2012) --------------------------------------------- The observing schedule was again interrupted by a high-radiation event that activated the science instrument safing sequence (SCS 107) and stopped observing at 7:44am EDT on Jul 19. All spacecraft actions were nominal. A real-time procedure was executed on Jul 19 to disable SCS-29, which was enabled during the safing sequence. Loads for a replanned schedule were uplinked to the observatory on Jul 19 with 56.5ks of science loss.
