See http://cxc.harvard.edu/mta/SOT_reports/sot-shift.html Shift L6070. Start at 064:14:00 GMT PLAN ---- Run CAP 1377 "Normal Sun Mode Recovery" at next available comm. The hope is to get a comm at 12:45 EST, but this is not clear at this time. NOTES/ISSUES/PROBLEMS --------------------- From the 9am status meeting: Radiation: Solar activity is expected to be very low with a slight chance for a C-class flare on days one, two, and three (04 Mar, 05 Mar, 06 Mar). MP: Two ways forward: one plan will be released for review if we obtain the ~noon local comm. This plan would uplink using the 11 pm (local) comm. The other way forward - If recovery is not completed until late tonight - would need to use the Saturday morning uplink opportunity. This would require significant reworking of the plan. post 9 am update: We have added an additional comm near noon local: 1640UT (BOA) - 1740UT (BOT) - 2245UT (EOT). (We thank the ACE mission) Eng: Summary of last night's activities. On 3 Mar 2016 (day 2016:063) at approximately 17:11:30 UTC the Chandra observatory transitioned to Safe Mode. Based on the halted OBC-A error log contents, it appears that a trip of the PCAD Sun Position Monitor is what initiated the safe mode transition. The Safe Mode transition was nominal (Pass 1), with the on-board equipment swap actions having been successfully accomplished. At this time, the spacecraft is power positive and power safe, and the HRC and ACIS science instruments were successfully safed by SCS 107. Investigations are complete as to the cause of the monitor trip, and no hardware failures are involved. As a result, a standard recovery to OBC control can be accomplished. Team decided not to run CAP 1377 starting past midnight local time. We will try to get comm from another mission and start tomorrow around noon local to run CAP 1377. Failing that we will pick up at 4:45 PM tomorrow. Other cleanup items where accomplished by oc/cc including resetting the SSR pointers.
