NOTES/ISSUES/PROBLEMS --------------------- From the 9am status meeting: 3 Supports completed in the last 24 hours (total time: 6.9 hours) 3 SSR dumps 1 CAP: 1410, at 066/1023z, Normal Sun Mode Recovery At the 10:25pm EST pass last night it was found that Chandra had transitioned to NSM. The time of the NSM transition was 2017:066:00:24:21, possibly due to a large attitude error at the end of the maneuver before the NSM transition, and failed star acquisition. All indicators showed a normal transition from both spacecraft and science instrument perspectives. Recovery efforts are complicated by an all-DSN 14h outage on Tuesday. During the 5:45am comm pass this morning steps 1 to 7 of the NSM recovery procedure were run with nominal results. Chandra is currently holding on bright stars in NPM at a normal-sun attitude. NSM recovery will be completed at the 10pm EST pass this evening. Radiation: Solar activity is expected to be very low on days one, two, and three (07 Mar, 08 Mar, 09 Mar). MP: Science loads have stopped following the NSM transition. Tag up to discuss science recovery strategies after the 9am meeting. We are currently targeting a return to science at 05:00Z on day 067. Eng: Initial data analysis indicates that a gyro bias excursion during the maneuver preceding the NSM entry was the source of the attitude error. More analysis is required.
