The standard recovery to OBC control was completed on October 12. This left IRU-2, Gyro-2 in use for attitude control. Due to uncertainty regarding its continued performance, this is not desirable. IRU-1, Gyro-2 and IRU-2, Gyro-1 are both known to be operating well. This CAP will switch the nominal gyro configuration to MUX 4, IRU-1, Gyro-2 and IRU-2, Gyro-1. It will also patch the Safe Mode configuration to IRU-1, Gyros 1&2 after a power cycle of IRU-1. The A-side IRU and FSSA were left powered on during Safe Mode Recovery. This CAP accounts for this action and will return these units to their (new) nominal states. [1455A]| 293/0052z | PR-431 Stub SCS 80 During the execution of SOP_PCAD_GYRO_SWAP (Ref. CAP 1454A) SCS 80 must be stubbed to prevent reconfiguration during the swap process. This CAP applies the patch to stub SCS 80. A memory load to stub out SCS 80 is loaded to OBC-A. SCS 80 runs when the OBC is reset by anything other than an EIA sequencer trip. Stubbing this SCS’s prevents any unnecessary commanding of equipment during the gyro swap. For this SOP, SCS 2 is NOT stubbed, but the sequencer is set to PASS2.
