From Jun 08, 2011 SOT shift report ----------------------------------- S/C: SCS 107 ran; the first since December 2006. It was triggered by the HRC rate going over threshold. We will update the onboard ephmeris today. SIGNIFICANT SOLAR ACTIVITY: Region 11226 produced a M2.5/2N proton event peaking at 06:41 UTC yesterday. This event was associated with a full halo CME. GOES X-ray flux: presently in the low part of the quiet B range after the intense M class flare yesterday. CMEs: yesterday a wide, full halo CME was observed after the M2.5 event in region 11226. The CME could reach Earth sometime during the latter half of June 9. NOAA forecasters estimate a greater than 25% chance of geomagnetic storms on June 9th that day. That's when a CME from the flare of June 7th is expected to deliver a glancing blow to Earth's magnetic field.
