Email Oct 28 ------------ At 2021:301:16:35:54 UTC, SCS-107 ran due to a high radiation event very shortly after an X-1 class X-ray flare seen by GOES. The RADMON trigger was the ACIS TXings monitor. The SCS-107 run was nominal and the science instruments were left in a safe and expected configuration, with the science observing loads stopped and vehicle loads still running. Of note is the first eclipse of the upcoming eclipse season at 302:22:28:07, where the running vehicle loads will handle this event as originally planned. The plan for return to science is to pick up with a replan of the OCT2821 + NOV0121 loads, starting with a TOO observation of GRB211023B around day 303/2300z. The uplink comm is DSS-56 303/2145z (5:45 pm Saturday). Email Oct 30 ------------ At the 5:45pm EDT comm the team convened to review the radiation rates and other available data related to the space environment. Based on discussions and inputs from team members, there was concurrence that it is safe to restart the science mission with the approved OCT3021A loads. These will start execution at 6:31pm EDT, beginning with an ACIS observation of NVSS J003659+18.
