The HEAD Executive Committee voted at our annual meeting at the Atlanta AAS to award the 2004 Rossi Prize to Harvey Tananabaum and Martin Weisskopf (Figure 2) for their vision, dedication, and leadership in the development, testing and operation of the Chandra X-ray Observatory . The Rossi Prize is given annually by the HEAD of the AAS to award the most important recent original work and contributions to High Energy Astrophysics. Harvey and Martin will present their Rossi Prize Lecture(s) at the January 2005 AAS meeting in San Diego.
