AHELP for CIAO 4.11 Sherpa v1


Context: models


accretion disk line shape with BH spin as free parameter. XSpec convolution model *Experimental*.


Convolves the current spectrum with the line shape from the kerrdisk model. A detailed description can be found in Brenneman & Reynolds (2006ApJ...652.1028B). This model is quite slow so is best used after models such as laor or diskline have been employed to get an estimate of the best-fit parameters.

xskerrconv Parameters

Number Name Description
1 Index1 emissivity index for the inner disk
2 Index2 emissivity index for the outer disk
3 r_br_g break radius separating the inner and outer portions of the disk (gravitational radii)
4 a dimensionless black hole spin
5 Incl disk inclination angle to the line of sight (degrees)
6 Rin_ms inner radius of the disk in units of the radius of marginal stability
7 Rout_ms outer radius of the disk in units of the radius of marginal stability

XSpec version

This information is taken from the XSpec User's Guide. Version 12.10.0e of the XSpec models is supplied with CIAO 4.11.

The powerlaw and gaussian components are convolved by the kerrconv model, whose inclination angle is set at 45 degrees.
