SUMMARY OF SEQUENCE NUMBER 200021
SUMMARY OF SEQUENCE NUMBER 200021
Title: EMISSION FROM LATE-TYPE STARS
Observer: MURRAY
Subject Category: Normal Stars and WD
Seq: 200021 ObsId: 00023
Long-term Plan bin: 11-Jan-2000
ABSTRACT
Our proposed program to understand the X-ray emission from late-type stars will address three important issues: i) establish whether the ``solar analogy'' is invariably appropriate (and under what circumstance it may not apply), ii) determine coronal characteristics and their dependence on the properties of the underlaying stars (including rotation, color, and metallicity), and iii) understand the variation of activity levels at the low-mass end of the main sequence, where the convection zone may penetrate to near the stellar center.
