SOT Shift Report 05/03/24
-------------------------
A X1.6 flare was observed from region 3663 in the northern part of the disc. A CME was also produced but it appears to be heading away from Earth. This region will remain a threat for M and X class flares in the next 24 hours. Solar activity is likely to be moderate with a slight 25% chance for an X-class flare on days one, two, and three (03 May, 04 May, 05 May).
SOT Shift Report 05/06/24
-------------------------
Over the weekend, AR 3663 in the northwest quadrant produced a series of M-class flares, two X1 flares, and most recently an X4.5-class flare. So far, all CMEs associated with these events have been directed to the north of the Sun-Earth line with a limited impact on Earth. The region is expected to continue being active with a 90% chance for M-class flares and a 50% chance for X-class flares in the next 24 hours.
SOT Shift Report 05/08/24
-------------------------
Solar activity is expected to be moderate to high with a 50% chance for X-class flares on days one, two, and three (08 May, 09 May, 10 May). Two X-1 class flares were observed in the last 24 hours and one of them, from AR 3664 near the center of the disk, produced an Earth-directed CME which should arrive within the next 48-72 hours.
SOT Shift Report 05//09/24
--------------------------
A combined impact of up to 4 CMEs is expected over the weekend starting on Friday, May 10, all from the Earth-facing region 3664, following additional M8, X1, and X2 class flares produced over the last 24 hours. Solar activity is likely to be high on days one, two, and three (09 May, 10 May, 11 May) with a 60% chance for X-class flares.
Although we prefer to quote CTI values of the cleanest data (FT <= -119.7 C, int time > 7000sec), the data that fulfills these conditions are getting rare. We now quote CTI based on temperature corrected data for Focal plane temperature <= -118.5 C).
The unit is now CTI/year not CTI/day.

We display all bad pixels that have showed up in past, and, if any, previously unknown bad pixels appeared in the last 14 days. We also list hot pixels (defined as 1000 above the average of bias background). Warm columns 509-514 are probably due to boundaries.
New definitions of warm pixels and flickering pixels (May 15, 2014). If a pixel displays the level beyond a threshold for more than 70% of the time in the past two weeks, the pixel is categorized as a "warm" pixel. If a pixel is above the threshold more than 30% of time but less than 70% of the time in the past two weeks, the pixel is categorized as a "flickering" pixel.

Weekly focal plane temperature with sun angle, earth angle, and altitude overplotted. Sun angle is the solar array angle, that is the angle between the sun and the optical axis (+X axis). The earth angle is the angle between earth and the ACIS radiator (+Z axis). Altitude varies from 34 kkm to 128 kkm.
