Oral Presentations
Contributed talks will be 12min maximum duration, with 3min for discussion/questions. Invited talks are 25+5 (for the first historical session, talks are 30+5).
We will have both a Mac and a Windows laptop at the podium. If you think a computer/OS mismatch might present problems, please export to PDF. If you have animations in your presentation, it is highly recommended that you test them on our laptops at the meeting (e.g., during a coffee or lunch break), because from past experience, these have a high failure rate.
Electronic Submission
All electronic talks we receive BY NOON BOSTON TIME on MONDAY JULY 9
will be pre-loaded to smooth talk transitions, to help us keep to
schedule, and to insure the maximum available time for your talk and
discussion. Please make SURE to name your electronic file:
LastName_FirstName.ppt
e.g., Green_Paul.ppt
We prefer you submit via ftp to a read-only site as follows:
ftp sao-ftp.cfa.harvard.edu
Login: anonymous
Passwd: your@email.address
cd /pub/xrb12
bin
put LastName_FirstName.ppt
quit
You could also send your electronic presentation by email to cxcworkshop@cfa.harvard.edu but send a separate email telling us, in case the spam filters reject a large file.
Finally, if instead you must bring your completed talk on flash memory stick or CDROM, please see Evan Tingle or Ray Hemond at the meeting to get it loaded onto the machines as far in advance of your talk as possible.
