HETG: High Energy Transmission Grating

The High Energy Transmission Grating on Chandra (PI: C.Canizares, MIT) provides a spectral resolution of about 1000 in the 0.5-8 keV band (1.6-6 Angstrom). The dispersed spectrum is normally read out by the ACIS-S CCD array.

See the Proposers' Observatory Guide (POG) and the HETG website for technical details and the CXC HETG Calibration webpages for the latest calibration status. For a more in-depth discussion of grating analysis, refer to the Chandra Grating Analysis Guide.
