Joint Chandra Calibration/CIAO Workshop
Previous CIAO Workshops| Previous Calibration WorkshopsA one day Chandra Calibration and CIAO workshop will be held on Monday, 17 November 2014, at the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, Cambridge, MA. The workshop will be held in Phillips Auditorium.
The workshop is on the day before the
the start of the
15 Years of Science with Chandra Symposium
being held in downtown Boston.
Participants staying in Boston on Sunday night will need to travel to Cambridge via
public transportation
(about 40 min - directions will be provided).
Registration to the workshop is required but there is no registration fee to attend the workshop.
The workshop - lasting from 9am to 6pm - will focus on getting the most out of Chandra data, with discussions of CIAO capabilities and the impact of calibration on cutting edge science. About half of the day will be spent on hands-on sessions, with CXC staff available to answer individual questions and assist with data analysis.
Participants will be required to bring their own laptop with the latest CIAO installed for the hand-on session.

The workshop is mainly aimed at students and postdocs new to Chandra data, who will be given precedence, but participation is encouraged for anyone interested.
